MOD has a presumption in favour of safe public access to the estate, subject to limits required for range safety, security, the needs of our tenants etc.
Because of the popularity of the Plain we have a number of issues with dogs on Salisbury Plain. Problems vary from:
a. Lack of control of dogs leading to attacks on sheep, wildlife, troops and recreational users of the Plain
b. High concentrations of dog fouling in popular areas.
c. Lost or stolen dogs.
