Salisbury Christmas Market

MUSICAL PERFORMANCE – Call for singers/music

For the last 2 years at Salisbury Christmas Market, our visitors and exhibitors have said that one of the highlights of the event was the variety of local schools, choirs and music groups Awho performed so beautifully at the Christmas Market. We would like to invite Farley Music to join us in celebrating Advent in 2014.

We welcome choirs and musical performances every day from 27th November to 20th December when the Market is open (daytimes, twilight, evenings and weekends) and we endeavour to offer you a time/day to suit each group. All festive music and performance is warmly welcome. In particular this year we would love to find a choir or choirs to help perform appropriate music for:

  • Saint Lucia Day on Sat 13th Dec and sing 2 or 3 Swedish festive songs (we can provide music and lyrics),
  • our St. Nikolaus celebration on Fri 6th Dec  and Sat 7th Dec (any German carols would be good)
  • St. Andrew’s Day on Sun 30th Nov. (anything Scottish would be welcome)

We can provide you with a pretty, purpose-built bandstand which holds about 25-30 standing performers at the heart of the Christmas Market. It has lighting and power (but you will need to bring your own PA system if you need one). So that we can look after your group in the best possible way, please complete the form attached at your earliest convenience so we can promote your group in our marketing and list you on our website.

New for 2014!

Please bring your group to join our big ‘All Salisbury Sings’ event on Friday 19th December.(5pm – 10.30pm)

This new high-profile event is being organised in partnership with The Trussell Trust and Oxfam, and we aim to have as many people as possible singing Christmas Carols and festive music  in the Market Place. Many of the churches in Salisbury are already involved and we would love your group to join us either to perform on stage or be a ‘flash mob’ in the crowd! Please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in being a part of this huge event.

We look forward to hearing from you and very much hope you will join us! Meantime if you are connected to other musical groups please pass on this email to your network or alternatively we’d love to have a contact so we can get in touch. Thankyou.

With best wishes

Sara McPartland
