Clarendon Team News – 7th December 2018

Dear Friends,

So, the second Sunday of Advent is here and we are extremely fortunate to have Beth leading our Parish Eucharist service in Pitton. This will be her third service of the day so please do come and give her a warm hug and we promise some decaf coffee ready on arrival!! We will light the second Advent candle on our magnificent Advent Ring. This is installed each year by the wonderful Chris Emden. This year he has created a Follow the Star banner above the porch to link us with the national church and its Christmas campaign. Do come and admire it!

Mandy will lead Morning Worship in Farley and she will be delighted to welcome you to the service and encourages you to stay afterwards for coffee and biscuits!

The second candle of Advent is the Candle of Peace. It is sometimes called the Bethlehem Candle to remind us of the place in which preparations were made to receive the Christ child. Peace is a gift that we must be prepared for. God gives us the gift of peace when we turn to him in faith.

For those in Pitton, the Trussell Trust would love some festive fare to put into their Christmas food hampers for needy families. Please do give generously and let us fill John’s car!!

Have a very good weekend, with best wishes from Sara and Jane
