Arts events happening soon:

    The 2019 Farley Music Festival will once again take place over six evenings this June (Tuesday 16th June – Sunday 21st June) in the unique setting of All Saints’ Church in Farley.

    Tickets are on Sale through the Salisbury Playhouse from 15 March 2020.  Free parking and interval wines from Bluestone Vineyards are included in the ticket price.

    Tuesday June 16th            Elena Tanski (Violin) / Nicholas Walker (Piano)

    Elena is a very talented young Austrian Violinist from Salzburg who has played with the London Philharmonic orchestra. With our own Salisbury based Nicholas Walker on Piano the concert.

    Wednesday June 17th      Karim Said (Piano)

    By popular demand a return to Farley – last visit 2012 – of this young but inspirational player. His program will contrast English music from the sixteenth and seventeenth century with a more romantic repertoire.

    Thursday June 18th          David Gray (Piano) 

    David is another world-class returnee who wowed audiences with his playing of the Alkan concerto in 2013. David plays the organ as well as the piano and has toured the world in this capacity. His programme will include works by Chopin.  This is a young player of brilliance who has performed in the USA (Los Angeles prize winner), Switzerland, Australia and New Zealand.

    Friday June 19th              Mihayi Berecz (Piano)

    A winner of the Berlin International Concerto Competition and the prodigious Manhattan International Music Competition, Mihayi is a very gifted and interesting young pianist in his fourth year at the Royal Academy of Music. As a winner of numerous prestigious competitions, we are sure that the Farley audience will respond to his intelligence and warmth which will be displayed in his playing.  Amongst other works Mihayi which will play include Bach’s celebrated “Goldberg Variations”.

    Saturday June 20th         Diva Opera Company

    Now in its 24th year, Diva Opera has earned an unrivalled reputation within the operatic world
    and beyond. Giving around 40 performances annually, they are now ambassadors for chamber opera internationally. Their acclaimed productions tour throughout the United Kingdom and Europe and have been seen as far afield as Russia, Japan and South Africa. All works are presented in spectacular period costume and sung in their original language. Highlights for the company include a performance of La Cenerentola at La Fenice Opera House in Venice in 2004, The party scene from Die Fledermaus at the Royal Albert Hall, with José Carreras and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa as special guests and performances at the International Forum in Tokyo as part of the prestigious festival La Folle Journée. This year the company will tour extensively with new productions of Bizet’s Carmen and Mozart’s Don G Giovanni.

     


    Sunday June 21st – Evensong led by Canon Richard Chartres

    To give thanks and close the festival, Evensong led by The Right Reverend and Right Honourable The Lord Richard Chartres GCVO PC , and will take place at Farley All Saints.
