Arts events happening soon:
The 2019 Farley Music Festival will once again take place over six evenings this June (Tuesday 18th June – Sunday 23rd June) in the unique setting of All Saints’ Church in Farley.
The 2019 Farley Music Festival programme is our most exciting ever.
Kicking off the 2019 festival on Tuesday 18th June, is Riyad Nicolas. Riyad came to play for us some years ago, but we are delighted to welcome back this Syrian pianist whose individual style has just won him the coveted Liszt competition in Budapest. Not only will he play the Liszt Paganini Etude No.6, but also Beethoven’s Sonata in E flat major, Op.27, no.1, and some Russian music too, so it promises to be an exciting evening. Read more.
Next up, on Wednesday 19th June we welcome Francesca Orlando. Italian by birth, Francesca is in her first year of postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy of Music. She is a promising pianist who will bring her passionate style to Schubert’s Drei Klavierstücke and Beethoven’s Sonata in A flat major, Op.110. Read more.
An exciting evening awaits on Friday 21st June. The International Young Soloists Trio is one of the projects of the inventive Hungarian pianist Alexandra Balog. The group is a versatile ensemble which can be expanded, but in this concert, Alexandra is joined by the Korean Violinist Jane Kim and the Hungarian Cellist Réka Adorjáni in an attractive programme comprising Beethoven’s magnificent Appassionata Sonata, Chopin’s Polonaise for Cello and Piano and Brahms’s beautiful first piano trio. The final concert in the 2019 Festival, on Saturday 22nd June features the multi-instrumentalist Egyptian sisters Sarah and Laura Ayoub , also returning to Farley, via the Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, London Palladium, Abbey Road and the BAFTAS! Discovered by Mark Ronson and now signed to Decca Records, their first album debuted at No.1 in the Official Classical Artist Albums Chart. The genre-defying duo will perform an international selection drawing upon their Egyptian heritage and Scottish influences with a mix of classical and popular favourites. Read more.
