Become a dementia friend at special event in Alderbury
Date/Time
Southern Wiltshire Area Board is hosting a special event focusing on dementia taking place in Alderbury Village Hall on 26 January 2016. Southern Wiltshire has the second highest rates of recorded dementia in Wiltshire and as a result of this the Area Board has made it its theme for 2015/16. The aim of the event is to bring like-minded people together to look at practical ways communities can support people with dementia. One way you can help is to become a Dementia Friend. Dementia Friends is about learning more about dementia and the small ways you can help. From telling friends about the Dementia Friends programme to visiting someone you know living with dementia, every action counts. To become a Dementia Friend all you need to do is attend a 1 hour information session. Book your place on one of the Alderbury sessions below. Why not make this your New Year’s resolution? The event schedule is as follows: 3.30pm to 4.30pm – Dementia Friends Information session (Book your place on this session): 4.30pm to 5.15pm – Refreshments and conversation 5.15pm to 6.15pm – Dementia Friends Information session (Book your place on this session): The event is being supported by the Alzheimer’s Society and they will be on hand to offer support and guidance for families affected by dementia. Please do get in touch if you require any further information or would like to discuss how you or your organisation might like to work with us to create dementia friendly communities in Southern Wiltshire. Kind regards Tom Tom Bray
