BioBlitz Wildlife Recording Event at Hazel Hill Wood

Friday 25 May 2018 at 10:00

Hazel Hill Trust are inviting people of every age to come and join in the fun of finding as much wildlife as possible at a special BioBlitz event held at Hazel Hill Wood, near Salisbury. The event will run for a mammoth 29 hours and together we will find and identify as many different species of birds, bugs, plants and beasties (including nocturnal wildlife like bats and moths) as we can!

The event will start at 10am on Friday 25 May, 2018 and run right through until 3pm on Saturday 26 May, 2018. Don’t worry about staying for the full duration – you can join us for as much or as little of the event as you like.

Wildlife experts and creepy crawlie interested beginners alike are welcome to this BioBlitz special edition of our Volunteers Conservation Days, made possible thanks to funding from Postcode Local Trust, a grant-giving charity funded entirely by players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

“This is a really exciting opportunity to explore our magical private woodland and learn about habitats and species. If you enjoy yourself we’d love to have you back to help at our Volunteer Conservation Days” says Charley Miller, Conservation and Education Coordinator at Hazel Hill.

Booking is essential so for more information and directions please contact Charley on adventures@hazelhill.org.uk or 07905 007021. Free camping will also be available for those who’d like to stay overnight.
