Carmen at the Cattle Ring

Wednesday 24 July 2013 at 19:00

bizetThis will be a truly unique production – who has ever heard of opera in a cattle market?  Director, Ben Occhipinti, will be putting a new contemporary spin on this much loved opera to make it vibrant, face-paced, colourful and exciting! He has a few surprises up his sleeve which will make you laugh… or cry.

We also have an extraordinary number of very talented young people involved in the production, from children in the urchins’ chorus, a stunningly good all-female youth orchestra, school-age extra-chorus, singing-student understudies, and young professional singers who are our soloists.  We have started rehearsals and they all sound fantastic!
Everyone knows the music – the melodies are some of the most downloaded mobile phone ringtones of all time!
We hope we can tempt you to come along to support us and share this exciting experience. Bring a picnic and enjoy it on the grass, or come and have a drink in the market bar beforehand.
Tickets £20 are available from Salisbury Playhouse box office or online at www.salisburyplayhouse.com.
(These are bench seats of which about 40% have backs. Seats cannot be reserved.) The £25 tickets have sold out.
We look forward to seeing you!
