Fungus Foray in Bentley Wood
Come and learn to recognise and identify some amazing fungi with FOBW, Salisbury Natural History Society and Wiltshire Botanical Society. We will divide into separate groups with a few people picking in Hawksgrove, then gather at the end for an identification session at around noon. Please wear suitable footwear for rough/muddy terrain. There is the possibility of an afternoon extension if conditions are suitable. Bring a picnic and drinks if you would like to stay on. Coordinator Ailsa McKee and guest mycologist Philip Budd. Meet at 10 am at the Howe Farm Track car park.
The Friends of Bentley Wood is a charitable organisation of supporters of Bentley Wood. Its members meet for social events, educational and fun walks and other events in the wood itself. Everyone living in the local villages around the wood (particularly Farley and Pitton, Firsdown, Winterslow, West and East Tytherley, West Dean and West and East Grimstead) is welcome (and encouraged) to join. We would like to encourage more local members this year and are doing our bit to support the Hook and Glove too!
The full 2014/2015 programme of the FOBW is here, and you can read more about joining the Friends of Bentley Wood here. Renewal of membership is on April 1st annually. Subscription is only £10.00 Family (2 Adults plus any children under 16 years of age) / £6.00 Single.
