Hawksgrove to the Hook

Date/Time
Saturday 14 June 2014 at 09:30

A 3-mile meander through Hawksgrove into Blackmoor Copse, then Farley Copse, emerging opposite the Hook and Glove (no road walking) to enjoy a pub lunch. We will see the butterflies, flowers and birds of this part of the ancient Hunting Forest of Clarendon and Melchet. Cars already at the pub by prior arrangement will take the drivers the mile back to collect their cars. Meet 9.30 am by the car park on Howe Farm track.

The Friends of Bentley Wood is a charitable organisation of supporters of Bentley Wood. Its members meet for social events, educational and fun walks and other events in the wood itself. Everyone living in the local villages around the wood (particularly Farley and Pitton, Firsdown, Winterslow, West and East Tytherley, West Dean and West and East Grimstead) is welcome (and encouraged) to join. We would like to encourage more local members this year and are doing our bit to support the Hook and Glove too!
