Men of Pitton visit to Hurst Castle

Wednesday 15 July 2015 at 09:30

Hello Men of Pitton,
I trust that you are all well and ready for our next outing! John Semmons was not able to get anywhere with the Nat. Hydro people so we have an alteration to our programme.
Proposed visit    WEDNESDAY 15th JULY 2015 to HURST CASTLE, near Milford-on-Sea, Hants.
The Castle is situated at the seaward end of the shingle spit that extends 1.5 miles from Milford-on-Sea.The Castle has an interesting history and several of our members tell me that it is well worth a visit.
It is possible to walk to the Castle from Keyhaven {car park} but it is also possible to travel by boat ferry from Keyhaven at a return fare of £6. The Ferry runs every 20 minutes.Entrance to the Castle costs £4.20 for seniors. There is an AUDIO GUIDED TOUR at a cost of £2.The Castle is open from 10.30am,
Lunch will be at the GUN, KEYHAVEN and I will reserve a table when I know  who is coming.
I suggest that we leave PITTON at 9.30am and travel by car. Volunteer drivers please.  When we get to Keyhaven we can decide who wants to walk and who wants to go by boat.
If you would like to come, please let me know by SUNDAY 12th July so that I can arrange lifts.
Hope you can come.  Kind regards.  John.
This trip is for Men of Pitton only. For more details about the Men of Pitton, click here.
