On Pitton Village Hall Field Fancy Dress ParadeAssemble in The Close at 3.15pm for judging of the Cops & Robbers-themed Fancy Dress at 3.30pm. The parade will then pass along The Green to the Village Hall Field for the Grand Opening at 4 pm. Categories for Fancy Dress are: Pre School Age Village FeteThere will be stalls and sideshows including the Cake Stall, the Rifle Range, Crockery Smashing and the Silent Auction; there will be Books, Toys and Bric-a-Brac to buy, or you can try your luck with the Bottle Stall or Unlock the Box. To satisfy the inner you, there will be Cream Teas, a Pimms stall, Beer Tent and a Re-fuel Stop for the U18s as well as barbecue food available to buy from 6.00 pm. Tennis Club Competition FinalThe final of the league competition run by the Tennis Club will take place at 5 pm so do take a break to nip across to the court and cheer on the contenders! Our evening continues as we are led a merry dance by the Black Bear Ceilidh Dance Band until it is rounded off by the Fabulous Fireworks Finale! Please remember, your ticket for the evening is a badge to be worn from 6pm onwards, (this covers the cost of the Band and the Fireworks). AND FINALLY – What can YOU do to help? CAKES for the Cake Stall – these can be left at the Hall on the morning of Carnival Day BOTTLES for the Bottle Stall BOOKS for the Book Stall BRIC A BRAC (No clothes please) PROMISES/ITEMS for the Silent Auction to David and Carol Flint on 712435 Bottles, books and bric-a-brac will be collected from you by Carnival helpers. Bottles can also be delivered to Jane Emden (no later than Friday evening 4th July please!). Books and Bric-a-Brac can also be delivered to the Hall on the morning of 5th July. And……………………………. We will be setting up the field for the fete on the morning of Saturday 5th July from 10 am. All help most welcome! MOST OF ALL The awesome job of clearing up!! Sunday 6th, from 9.30 am *********************** All funds raised go towards the development and support of the Village Hall. PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITIONSubject: Pitton Life e.g. scenes or events in the village or immediate local area of Pitton; amusing events that have happened; previous village Fetes; the flood, etc. Classes: Juniors: Up to 11 years Seniors: 12 to 18 years Adults: 18 years and over Rules: All photographs to be submitted to Andrew Priestley at 5 Elm Close, Pitton, by Wednesday, 2nd July at the latest. Each person may enter up to three photographs. Entry fee of £1 per head (for up to three photographs). Photographs can be colour or black and white. Maximum size A4. Photographs can be submitted as prints or in mounts; NO frames please. Names, telephone number and age group to be affixed to the back of each photograph. NO names on the front please. Entries will be judged on the morning of the fete, 5th July. Entries will be judged on composition and relevance. Winners will be announced during the afternoon. Certificates will be awarded for first, second and third places in each group. Photographs will remain in the village hall for viewing during the fete and can be collected afterwards at the end of the afternoon. Arrangements can also be made to collect photographs at a different time.
