Quiz Night @ The Silver Plough
Wednesday 09 October 2019 at 20:00
This is a reminder about the quiz nights at the Silver Plough. These are held on the second Wednesday of each month starting at 8:00pm. The quiz is organised in tables of 4 or 6 people with each player playing their own quiz sheet. If you do not have four people we will help you to make up a table with others.
There is a lot of sharing of answers going on at each table, which adds to the fun of the evening. The quiz sheets are organised in such a way that you do not have to be a master quizzer to win a round. This is because the quiz sheets are organised in a bingo format and you need a line across the sheet to win. But the numbers are randomly organised on each sheet, so even if you answer most of the questions – you might not make a line across your quiz sheet. This gives everybody a chance to win.
We have four rounds each evening. One round is a music round, with a trophy on offer, and in the final round, you have the opportunity to win a £40 voucher for dinner at the Plough.
We also hold a ‘bring and win’ raffle. So you bring a prize of a bottle or a box of chocolates and you have a good chance to take something home.
The cost is £2 for a four-round quiz sheet and there is a cash prize of £5 awarded for the winner of each round.
All proceeds go to charity. We recently donated £1,000 each to the Stars Appeal, Wiltshire Air Ambulance and Pitton School.
Please let Jeni know if you plan to attend so that she knows the numbers to cater for. Jeni’s details are firstname.lastname@example.org.
