Salisbury Baroque – Autumn Concert

Salisbury Baroque offers a varied programme in its next concert at St Thomas’s Church, Salisbury, Sunday 20th September, at 3.30pm.

Set in one of Salisbury’s most beautiful and accessible churches, this is the start of the new concert season and an opportunity to hear Salisbury’s own period instrument ensemble.

Catherine Martin joins the group as soloist and leader for a concert which will include Bach’s E major Violin Concert. The concert will also include music by Handel, Wassenaer and a concerto for two oboes and bassoon by Telemann.Cathy

Catherine Martin specialises in performances on period instruments; she is leader of the Gabrieli Consort and Players and the orchestra of the Early Opera Company, and has appeared as guest leader of The English Concert and Florilegium. In demand as violin soloist and director, Catherine has directed concerts with Barokkanerne, Oslo and the Wroclaw Baroque Orchestra
The concert will also include works by Handel, Telemann, Vivaldi and Wassenaer.
