The Hook & Glove, Farley
Having been a regular at “The Hook” for over thirty years, Fiona McKie bought the freehold just before Christmas 2013 with the aim of restoring it to its origins as a true village local pub. We serve four changing draught beers from local breweries, have a very extensive and reasonable wine selection and a huge selection of unusual bottled ales.
A local fishmonger delivers a variety of fish and shellfood daily. There is a daily steak board, and locally smoked pork, trout and duck are usually on the daily changing menu board and Sunday roasts. Everything is freshly cooked so the menu is continually changing (examples on the website). Children are welcome and we can provide individually sized children’s portions or their favourites. We also offer a take away service. There is a large car park, two petanque pitches which can be booked free of charge for private parties, space for tying up horses, (we have our own resident Shetland driving pony who loves being visited by his equine friends), a beautiful safe fully fenced garden with open views at the back and a “watch the world go by” front garden. Dogs are made welcome in the front bar and back garden.
