Fundraising success for Farley church clock

As you may have seen in this week’s Salisbury Journal, Richard Fox and Jamie Latham have raised more than £6,000 to reinstate the access ladder that allows the clock in the tower of All Saints’ Church, Farley to be kept operational.

This astonishing sum was pledged by villagers and visitors to Farley’s recent fete in response to vigorous fundraising efforts by Jamie and Richard who demonstrated their commitment to the cause by organising a sponsored 200 yard (sic) walk to the Hook & Glove.

Those who generously contributed to this impressive figure are now asked to send in their cheques, without delay.

Cheques should be made out to ‘ Farley PCC ‘ , reference ‘ Farley clock ‘ and sent to the Church Treasurer , Mandy Kerley :

Alternatively payment by BACS may be made by making a transfer to Farley PCC, sort code 09-01-51 Account number 63359407 once again with a reference of ‘ Farley clock’.
If the donor is a taxpayer please download and complete this Gift Aid form as this will add 25p to every pound raised .

The sum raised exceeds the estimated installation cost of the new ladder, but the surplus will be used for other necesssary work at All Saints’, for example to renew the flooring at clock level, possible servicing of the clock and the hatchway will in all probability need attention to allow for the safety ladder fixing.

Jamie and Richard (and the Pitton & Farley PCC) would like to thank all those who gave money to help restore the clock on All Saints’ Church.
