The next quiz night on Wednesday 13th July at 7.15 for 7.30 p.m. is filling up fast! Book now to avoid disappointment. For the several new families who have just/or are just about to move into the village who have called into the pub recently and have expressed an interest, please give me a ring and I will arrange to seat you with some (very) friendly faces. This is an excellent opportunity to meet your new neighbours. By way of explanation, our quiz is informal and teams consist of (widely) varying numbers, which adds to the fun. A light supper is served at 8.30 p.m. and tickets are £6 each. The quiz is quite often full up so it is an idea to book well in advance. Being a small pub, we only have a certain amount of space (also for this reason and to cater sensibly, we do appreciate being told as soon as you know if you have to cancel).
We are running a bar with draught Hopback ales, ciders and wine at the village fete on Saturday 25th and there are lots of fun activities for all the family and especially for their canine friends. Bean and Radish are certainly practising (Bean has promised not to do a repeat of her Winterslow fete outing!) The fete runs from 2.00 to 4.00 p.m. Rob of The Traditional Beef Company will also be running a delicious BBQ.
Dinner bookings for Saturday 25th June for both “after the fete” and “after the music festival” are also filling up fast.
For the music festival goers, we will be open from 5.45 p.m. with a full menu for an early dinner and are taking bookings for platters for apres festival goers, the same applies for the mid week festival nights.
Friday night is steak night is still running for just a little longer – £9.95 for an 8oz rump steak.
We are hoping to organise some more “surf and turf” barbecues soon, but with an eye to the weather forecast, we have not arranged any dates just yet.
That’s about it, keep dry. Kind regards, Fiona.
