News from St Peter’s

This weekend is the start of Advent, it is 30 days until Christmas! Chris and Jane Emden will be raising the fabulous St Peter’s Advent Ring tomorrow and Simon and the Team staff have issued us with special prayers for each Sunday as we light the Advent candles. Thank you to Chris and Jane.

Simon will also be leading our Parish Eucharist on Sunday which starts at the usual time of 11am. Do admire Slow Worm Alley which Sarah has trimmed in accordance with Parish Council demands. Thank you Sarah!

Sarah, Hannah and Sara attended a webinar yesterday which is rather exciting. There is a seven year project to map every single C of E churchyard in England at no cost to the PCCs and we should be “done” in the summer of 2023. This is being run by a company called Atlantic Geomatics and is a National Burial Ground Survey. They recognise the wealth of local history available in these ancient areas and will link it with local church records. The information will then by made available on line.

It is the popular Pitton School Christmas Fair tomorrow from 10-12 so do try and support that if you can! Plus, check out the Salisbury Journal feature on Pitton School and their fame on THE ONE SHOW!

Secondly, the Winterslow Methodists have invited us to this exciting festive event:

Christmas ADVENTure
Saturday 3rd December
10am – 1pm
Enjoy Coffee/Tea, Mince Pie or Cake

So much to look forward to and we wish you a fruitful and happy Advent as we prepare for the coming of Jesus at Christmas.

From Sara and Linda and Debbie and Phillip and Sarah
